Talk About Trust

As the descendant of Hollywood legends, The Marx Brothers, Gregg’s talent, passion and acumen for performance run strong in his blood. Doing justice to his lineage, this voice, screen & stage actor and singer has spent his extensive career honing his natural acting ability and engaging audiences with a friendly authenticity and inviting sophistication.

The Screen: Gregg is probably best known to television audiences as Tom Hughes on the CBS daytime drama “As The World Turns”, a role for which he received the Emmy Award as Best Supporting Actor. He also starred for three years as “David Banning” on NBC’s “Days of Our Lives”, as Dr. Martin Goldman in the mini-series “The Secrets of Lake Success” and guest-starred in episodes of “Civil Wars” and “Doogie Howser, MD”, among others.

The Stage: Gregg appeared on stage in Los Angeles as “Brian” in the world-premiere of “Transgressor” at the Gene Dynarski Theatre, and as “Michael” in the West-Coast premiere of “On Tina Tuna Walk”, at the Callboard and Zephyr Theatres. He also tackled the dual roles of a lunatic Austrian psychoanalyst and God, in the West-Coast premiere of Sherry Kramer’s “The Wall of Water” at the Coast Playhouse. Taking on multiple roles once again, Gregg starred in and co-produced a production of Don Nigro’s “Seascape with Sharks and Dancer”, at the Third Street Theatre.

The Song: As a singer, Gregg has appeared in some of the most celebrated cabaret venues in the country, including the world-famous Hollywood Cinegrill, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato, Catalina Jazz Club and The Gardenia in Los Angeles, Feinstein’s at The Nikko in San Francisco and The Metropolitan Room in New York, thrilling audiences with his interpretations of classics from The Great American Songbook.

The Voiceover: As the voice of hundreds of projects-from commercial, promo/trailer, narration and elearning, to animation – where he brought his singing and voice-over skills together, crooning holiday classics for “The Rugrats Christmas Special” – Gregg’s clients know they can entrust him to make their brand a lifelong friend of their listener.

Gregg Marx is at the top of our list of go-to voiceover artists. Beyond the deep, rich, resonant timbre of his voice, he’s got incredible range… he takes direction well… he can shave time off a read with near-unsettling precision… and he’s beyond accommodating in terms of scheduling, sample reads, revisits and the occasional mundane logistical chores. We use him whenever we can, and recommend him freely to clients and colleagues. Gregg’s a total pro. You’re in good hands, or whatever the vocal cord equivalent of that might be. I can’t offer higher praise for a collaborator.
Mark Howell & Brad Kurtz, Principals, Industrial Creative

Gregg Marx has a winning combination — a wonderful voice and an extraordinary work ethic. In the innumerable sessions we’ve done together, I’ve never seen him in anything but a great mood. He shows up ready to try anything and works diligently until you have exactly what you want. Sometimes, he even helps me discover what that is! Because he has great range, he’s able to tackle almost any project, from those requiring a more casual approach to those needing a proper voiceover guy. There’s nothing Gregg can’t do!
Heather Johnson, Creative Director at Warner Brothers Entertainment Group

I have had the pleasure of working with Gregg Marx for over 20 years, at both E! Entertainment Television and Warner Brothers. He is by far one of my favorite voiceover talents. Not only is he extremely talented, but also friendly, flexible and dependable. He can complement any trailer or promo depending on your needs, and can easily move from ‘friendly’ to ‘serious’ without missing a beat. Not everyone has the voice… or the talent to do this work, but Gregg is truly one of the top voice actors in the business.
Suzan Young, Senior Writer Producer at Warner Brothers

Having worked with Gregg Marx for over twenty years I can’t find one nice thing to say about him…but I can find a lot of nice things to say. Gregg is a consummate professional with an incredible range of styles. He always brings so much to every recording session. He can shave off a quarter second…fill in that extra space you’ve left…make sense of copy that frankly doesn’t make all that much sense. I could go on singing his praises…oh, did I mention he sings too? Once you’ve worked with Gregg I promise you won’t be disappointed…but you will be spoiled.
Bob Saltzburg, Executive Creative Director at Admarketing, Inc.

Gregg Marx is such a joy to work with…he’s prompt, professional and elevates our spots to a whole new level! Clients love him because he “gets it” and can really sell the copy. He’s great to work with and usually nails it on the first take. His voice adds such polish to every piece we use him on and he makes our jobs so much easier.
Denise Donahoe, VP Howdee Productions

Gregg Marx was the very first VO talent I had the pleasure to work with when I started in the business as a junior promo producer. Besides his obvious talent; that golden baritone that can sell just about anything, he is also one of the most patient and positive people I know. He is determined to give you the very best session, both with his execution and his professionalism. After 25 years of working with VO talent, I can honestly say, Gregg Marx is still one of the all-around-best talents to work with.
